Open Forge

South County Museum opens its Blacksmith Shop on the 4th Saturday every month, throughout the year. Blacksmiths are welcome to come, work and visit together from 9am-2pm. There is no charge for Open Forge, though donations are appreciated to defray material costs and to support the museum’s programming. If you are just interested in the contemporary craft of blacksmithing feel free to stop by, visit, and learn. Open Forge may be cancelled due to inclement or severely cold weather. Check Facebook if you are unsure. SCM offers private lessons year round as well as youth and adult blacksmithing workshops. Call or email us to learn more.
