In honor of National Walk and Bike to School Day, the South County Museum is hosting Bike Day on October 1st from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. Get ready for an afternoon of bike safety and history the whole family will enjoy,
This event is ideal for local elementary school students and parents, who can access the museum from the South County Bike Path. Pedal down to the museum after school to learn the cool local bike routes and test your bike safety knowledge with a special kid-friendly lesson.
Come explore a map of the most recent additions to the bike path, plus other multi-use paths in Narragansett and South Kingstown and recommended bike routes on state roads.
You will also discover the history of this old-fashioned mobile device. Anyone arriving at the museum on a bicycle will earn a free tour of the museum’s exhibits, including the bone-shaker and high wheeler bikes in its collection. Come step off of your modern bikes and back in time and explore our collection of historic transportation. This back-to-school event is the perfect way to get some exercise and explore the local environment.
