Greetings!
We had a great July at the museum and we’re looking forward to all that August has in store from craft workshops to special events!

On August 16th, from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, join us for an evening of elegance as South County Museum's summer research fellow Erin Shaw shares an illustrated lecture Unfolding History: The Fan in Daily Life & Culture. Erin will share her in-depth research on fans in the museum's collection. Learn about different styles of flat and folding fans as well as the mysterious language of fans and their meanings and uses in cultures around the globe.
This event is free to members, and a suggested $10 donation for non-members.

On August 24th, the South County Jammers will be hosting their annual picnic, with performances from guest musicians.
Bring a picnic and enjoy music, games, and raffles!
The museum will be operating normally from 10am-1pm, charging regular admission for any visitors. At 1pm, the main exhibition hall will close, and the festivities on the grounds will begin, free for all guests to enjoy.
Don’t miss the last few Wednesday Family Nights of the season! On Wednesdays through August 28th, the museum is open from 3pm-7pm. Each Wednesday evening offers a special event. Admission is $10 per family after 5pm.

8/7 - Doll Quilt Camp - Drop in anytime between 3pm-7pm and learn how to make a mini doll quilt. All materials will be provided. Return August 21st to receive technical support or make another quilt.
8/14 - Bingo (5:30pm-7pm) - Join for a game of bingo. The winner will receive a prize from one of our maker spaces.
8/21 - Doll Quilt Camp - Drop in anytime between 3pm-7pm and learn how to make a mini doll quilt, or receive technical support on one you've already started . All materials will be provided.
8/28 - Bingo (5:30pm-7pm) - Join for a game of bingo. The winner will receive a prize from one of our maker spaces.
This month we are busy preparing for our 38th Annual Folk Art Quilt Show. The show will run from September 6th-8th, 10am-4pm each day.
Christine Bagley has donated a beautiful quilt that we will be raffling off on the final day of the show. Raffle tickets are available for purchase at the museum during open hours, or online.
We only draw 1 ticket and you do not have to be present to win.
All proceeds support future quilt shows and textile programming.
Tickets are now available for our Farm to Table Dinner on September 14th. There will be a cocktail hour at 5pm, followed by dinner at 6:30pm, and an auction at 8pm. The evening will also feature live music from the South County Jammers, and craft demonstrations. This event is a fundraiser for the museum. Please join us in supporting local history and traditional craft.
